Mac Gaming: Battlefield 2142 on Mac OS X

Since Christmas I have been the proud owner of a brand new, maxed-out, 24” iMac as my home machine (since the unfortunate demise of my old PC’s motherboard).
One of the facts to which I had resigned myself was that my PC gaming days were over—everyone knows that there are no decent games for the Mac, and anyway, I had a lovely Wii to satisfy my needs in that area—but one day my idle browsing of the Apple Store led me to the Action Games section and the treasures within… and, 3-5 days later, a copy of Battlefield 2142 landed on the mat.

New applications a-go-go

For some reason, owning a Mac has made me much more amenable to spending money on little applications; I probably paid for only one or two apps in 8+ years of PC ownership, but in the two or three weeks that I’ve been a Mac user I’ve purchased (or am thinking of purchasing) quite a few useful applications. Maybe it’s the pretty icons that sway me…
