NaNo Day One

Day one of NaNoWriMo, and I don’t think I’m doing too badly. 963 words as of 8pm, 58% of the way to my daily target of 1,667.
I don’t even want to think about what happens if I miss a day out.
So far, aside from general distractions (which seem to fall into three ‘W’ categories – work, web or wife) the most difficult aspect of the writing has been resisting the temptation to go back and edit what I’d written previously. I am by nature a perfectionist, so just knowing that I’ve picked a less than perfect word a couple of paragraphs back is killing me.
If you are so inclined, you can follow my progress on The Watchmaker Project’s NaNoBlog. Of course, one of the benefits of using a blogging system like Textpattern is that even if I do miss a day here or there, I can always alter the published date to make it look as if I wrote something!
