My new favourite font

Nov 23 2004

Although for day-to-day work in Word I am still wedded to Trebuchet (love that lowercase ‘g’!), my new favourite font is the lovely Blue Highway:

The 3D is particularly nice, and has a real comic-book title feel to it. For a real-world example, have a look at the Basecamp type treatment:

The Typodermic site has some other great fonts to purchase, including an excellent silent movie font, and lots of others for a variety of uses. For free fonts, head over to SearchFreeFonts.com for over 7,000 typefaces free to download.

Blue Highway is a copy of Interstate. A very good copy :). I use BH as well, because I can’t afford to pay $1000 for the Interstate line. Definitely a nice font to work with.

It is lovely, isn’t it? I’ve just spent the day sitting in seminars watching Powerpoint presentations, trying to remember how to tell Arial and Helvetica apart…
